TRINA (Tele-Robotic Intelligent Nursing Assistant) 2.0, a.k.a. AVATRINA, is the robot platform being developed by Team AVATRINA. Originally developed as NSF-supported research at Duke University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, TRINA is being adapted to suit the goals of the ANA Avatar XPRIZE challenge.

AVATRINA as of March 2020

TRINA is an advanced telepresence robot that allows you to see, hear, navigate, and interact with a remote environment. A human operator controls the robot using an off-the-shelf VR system, either with the built-in controllers or haptic gloves. In the future we are planning to provide semi-autonomous functionality, which will enable you to leverage most of TRINA’s full capabilities simply through a mobile device.
